Pulse Dose vs. Continuous Flow: What's the Difference?
Pulse-dose oxygen is delivered when the concentrator detects inhalation. Because oxygen is delivered intermittently rather than continuously, pulse-dose concentrators can generally be made smaller and lighter.
Continuous-flow oxygen is delivered continuously at the prescribed liter-per-minute rate. Portable concentrators capable of continuous flow are generally larger because they must produce more oxygen.
